Some forty years ago the author decided definitely to devote his life to a synthesis of knowledge. He was at that time inspired by the last pioneering writings of the scientist Arthur Stanley Eddington, with whom he was in scientific contact. He soon discovered that the key to a universal synthesis lay in integrating two apparently incompatible domains of research: those of exact science in a formalism allied to that of the Eddingtonian Fundamental theory, and the psychology of the unconscious. This book is an attempt to set out the results of these investigations.
